Luis Ongil

He followed up his degree in Physics at Madrid's Complutense University in that university's Calculus Centre and then at IBM. He has spent his professional career in the new technologies and communication sector, beginning in Sperry Univac's Major Clients division in IT, getting involved in key projects with Telefónica, the Industry Ministry, Social Security Ministry and Iberia, among others.

He joined Nixdorf Computer as a Product Director, firstly in the IT Distribution division, latterly in New Switching & Digital Telephony Systems, finally being responsible for that company's External Project Management.

From 1990 he was in charge of Siemens Nixdorf's External Relations and Communications, with responsibility for the company's corporate relations, media, image, trade fairs and events.

In 1997 he joined the Siemens Group's Corporate Communication Division as Head of Press and Media, and remained in charge of the Group's external communication until 2008. This role involved activity both in Spain and abroad, covering the industry, transport and healthcare sectors, as well as the firm's factories, and its wholly and partially owned subsidiaries.

He has been a Communications Consultant since 2009. He is also a member of SECOT (Spanish Seniors for Technical Cooperation).
